Us
The
NC MBEC is a federally-funded
program by the U. S. Department of Commerce’s Minority
Business Development Agency (MBDA) and operated by the North
Carolina Institute of Minority Economic Development. The Institute
has been dedicated to serving MBE’s in North Carolina
for over 20 years. Our commitment and dedication will continue
as we provide financial and technical assistance to the MBE’s
with continued efforts in education, training, marketing and
procurement.
The
Institute:
The North Carolina Institute of Minority Economic Development
is a statewide nonprofit organization representing the interest
of underdeveloped and underutilized sectors of the state’s
economic base. The Institute's working philosophy is that
information and business development are critical to wealth
creation and to building the asset base among low wealth sectors

MBDA (Minority Business Development Agency):
The Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) is part of
the U.S. Department of Commerce. MBDA is the only federal
agency created specifically to foster the establishment and
growth of minority-owned businesses in America. MBDA is an
entrepreneurial focused and innovative organization committed
to wealth creation in minority communities. The Agency's mission
is to actively promote the growth and competitiveness of large,
medium and small minority business enterprises (MBEs). MBDA
actively coordinates and leverages public and private sector
resources that facilitate strategic alliances in support of
its mission.
